Dr. Andrew Krouner is a highly experienced board certified ophthalmologist. His experience and training has led him to concentrate his interest in Glaucoma, Neuro-ophthalmology, care of children’s eye problems and general ophthalmology, as well as focusing on Acute Care and Emergency Ophthalmic treatment for his patients. Dr. Krouner practices under the premise of an early mentor who taught that being a physician is a privilege, bringing true concern and empathy to all his patients and their families.
Dr. Krouner grew up 30 minutes outside of Boston, Massachusetts and attended Harvard University, graduating Cum Laude (with honors.) He completed medical school at George Washington University. As a Lieutenant in the US Navy, Dr. Krouner completed an internal medicine internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He was then put in charge of an acute care clinic at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He completed his training in Ophthalmology at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Dr. Krouner then spent three years as a Ophthalmologist at Portsmouth Naval Hospital where he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and became a board certified ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr Krouner was awarded as assistant professorship at Uniformed Services University and trained students to become physicians for the Navy, Army and Air Force.
Dr. Krouner has practiced in Pittsburgh PA and Albany NY. He is enthusiastic to join Precision Eye and Laser and live in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Dr. Krouner is active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
