Staff Highlight- Cathy

Welcome to our November Staff Highlight with Team Precision. Today we are throwing our spotlight on one of our technicians, Cathy. Cathy is one of our scribes and surgical coordinators and helps keep our practice running smoothly. Hear about Cathy, from Cathy herself, below:

"6 years ago I re-entered the workforce into what I consider to be my 3rd career. I started out as a mid-level financial manager at IBM before becoming a stay at home mom to raise my children and grow my family. Once my kids were old enough I discovered I wanted my 3rd not to be based on numbers like my 1st was, but on something a little more human like raising my family was. This brought me to medicine and ultimately to Precision Eye and Laser. I re-trained and worked hard as it was not a small jump from numbers to people, but it was well worth it. I was even able to attain my certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant which was no small feat as it had been many years at this point since I had been out of traditional school or since I had taken any sort of standardized testing. But I found it easy to want to work at being good at medicine. I really enjoy the variety of people I get the opportunity to care for that I just didn't get to experience in the corporate world where everyone around me seemed the same. I truly appreciate the great many people I get to meet and work with everyday and when it comes down to it, eyes win over IBM."
